Materials Needed

Standard square paper napkins

A napkin fold made with a napkin that is 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches (16 cm x 16 cm) makes a napkin fold that is about 3 inches x 6.5 inches (8.5 cm x 16 cm).

Instructions

Step 1: Typically, paper napkins come folded in quarters. Unfold your napkin once so that it is now only folded in half as shown.

Step 2: Fold both the left and right edges in to meet the middle.

Step 3: Unfold previous step.

Step 4: Fold the top left corner down on a diagonal along the line shown.

Step 5: Fold the left side of the paper to the middle again.

Steps 1 to 5 for folding a pleated pocket napkin fold.

Step 6: Fold the top right point down along the line shown.

Step 7: Fold that same point back up to the right to meet the top edge.

Step 8: Fold the same edge up just folded up in the previous step back down along the line shown.

Step 9: Fold the right side of the paper to the left along the crease shown.

Step 10: Fold the same flap back towards the right, matching the edges of the napkin. Completed napkin fold.
